Phase 2

Phase 2

Inhoud pagina: Phase 2

Phase 2 targeted the outworking of policy strategies and measures for preventing or limiting damage. Phase 2 served as a preparation for the political decision- making process. In order to arrive at certain policy strategies and measures, and to determine at what point damage is acceptable, round- table meetings have been organised for regions and sectors, at the beginning of phase 2. During these meetings the project organisation enquired what is occurring in the regions and sectors and what is expected of a national study.

Final report

dorretakDuring phase 2, also several ' Drought days' were held. The goal of these days was to exchange of knowledge between the project organisation and provinces, water boards, the regional management of the Department of Public Works, knowledgeable institutions and interest groups. The outcomes of all those events are incorporated in the final reports. Phase 2 confirmed that most decision making concerning drought issues in the Netherlands has to take place on a regional level. So that measures as a result are customised for the local situation. Further is the drought study mentioned in the Nationaal Bestuursakkoord Water ( National Administrative Agreement on Water).
